Brett, great stuff. Maybe you could interview Alex Newman about his book, “Crimes of the Educator”

I nominate for the name of the new studio “The Bike Shed” from the lyric “You! Yes! You behind the bikesheds! Stand still, laddie!” from Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall. Cheers!

The Live Show, View Stream link says that the live show is Thursdays at 6:30 PM. Is this still accurate? Does podcastmasters have a call in time/number? Forgive me if this information is already posted somewhere else.

Dawn and Cory, thanks for your replies. I am still holding off on reactivating my FB for SSP. Would be nice to be able to interact with SSP listeners without FB. Eventually we will figure out an alternative.

What is the best way to join the live show? The live feed page says Thursdays at 6:30 PM. Is the call-in still 843-JOIJN-SSP?

I enjoyed this conversation with Mattheus von Guttenberg and hope he comes back. I’m in favor of alternative currencies, but my biggest concern with BitCoin (the reason I don’t own any) is that the government may “crack down” on it. Why should we be optimistic that BitCoin is immune to government violence? Thus far, the popularity of many…[Read more]

This show does a great job of covering Brett’s interesting personal background (which may have been covered in prior podcasts that I missed).
I noticed too that, when Drew mispronounced Brett’s last name, instead of interrupting to correct him, Brett seized the moment to bring up an anecdote about his name. A very tactful nonviolent teaching moment!

Glad to hear Thad say he’s willing to come back. The show was definitely entertaining. It made me realize that few of us came to objectivism, or any significant shift in thinking, by having our dearest beliefs shredded in a public debate. At least the listening audience can take away something of value. Great jobs!

Although I agree more with the objectivist viewpoint, I found myself empathizing with Thad, almost feeling sorry for him. Correct me if I’m wrong, he is a self-labeled historian, not a philosopher. It seemed like he was ambushed. I give him credit for sticking with the debate in addition to his accomplishments as a historian and writer.
