Hi Bryan,
I agree that the book Disciplined Minds is not the ultimate research work on the subject of the compartmentalization and centralization of knowledge and understanding within the sciences. I think the book serves more as a warning of a direction to look at, so as to possibly prevent greater problems should the concerns in the book be…[Read more] -

Thanks for teaching us all about the Krebs cycle, Donald.
My reference to this in the podcast was that it was very possible for people like Brett to make effective choices as to their health, their diet and their supplement choices without knowing about this information. I did not say (or imply) that knowledge of the Krebs cycle is not useful.…[Read more] -

Hi Donald,
Sorry for responding so late to this post. As Brett and I have mentioned, much of the action regarding discussion of these shows seems to be on the Facebook group, and as this site has seemed to be inactive I’ve not spent much time here, except to download shows to listen to.
To your questions and concerns:
Yes, if I was to have a…[Read more] -

Thanks for commenting, Myc.
What you wrote served to illustrate a practical example of what this series is all about. For every Dan Shechtman there are probably hundreds (thousands, even?) of successfully dissuaded scientists and doctors, each of whom are convinced to “tow the line” and return to the herd.
Thanks for bringing Shectman’s work to…[Read more] -

Thanks for that Tony.
Having read what you linked to, I’ve decided that the story of Semmelweis may indeed have holes in it, and might indeed be a modern myth. As an illustration of a situation among doctors and scientists today it still serves as an example, and in future episodes I hope to mention that the story of Semmelweis has been called…[Read more] -

Hi Donald,
I’m willing to respond to your questions and statements.“I know neither Brett nor Darrell claim to be writers, but come on, can someone please ask one critical question concerning the grammar of these ideas and the ambiguous use of language therein?”
I’m willing to try and understand what is ambiguous regarding the statements…[Read more]

Thanks for that, I realize that I am presenting these ideas and tactics in a different way than both Carl Rogers and Marshall Rosenberg.
I agree that it is often helpful to find and use the capacity for […] -

Hey Sean,
I am working on writing such a book, and if someone has already written these concepts and tactics clearly described all into one book I’d very much like to read it. Also, this would save me the trouble […] -

Glad you appreciated the glossary, Aris. I’m sure many things happen when one takes the time to write and re-write study guides down (for purposes of rote memorization), putting the concepts into live action is […]
