[BONUS] Stop Saying “Virtue Signaling” (and do this instead)

(Comedy, Strong Language) Brett, James, Andrew and Osborne are tired of the phrase "virtue signaling." ...

  1. His work sounds interesting, but the numbers on illiteracy sound a bit hard to swallow. For example this government website claims that illiteracy steadily declined from 1870 to 1970 (scroll to bottom for table):

  2. Stefan Molyneux story is far more troubling than just taking down Tru Shibes videos. He has stated that it is bad for listeners to go out and look for counter arguments to his ideas (because people can’t think for themselves). Which is ironic, because you can use the same argument to not listen to him. This reminds me of religion and how leaders discourage congregations from looking at outside sources which are critical of them. Coming from a mormon background I am particularly sensitive to this since the LDS church leaders do this same thing. It is obvious that Molyneux has tendencies towards megalomania like Ayn Rand did. If you read the book “Why People Believe Weird Things” the author talks about the cult of Ayn Rand with her “inner circle”. The same thing is happening with Stefan. Stefan is running Ayn Rand inner circle cult 2.0.

Although Stefan has added greatly to the conversation on liberty regarding how we treat our families he is adding negatively to it by creating a cult-like atmosphere. Especially, when he encourages youth to disown their parents without giving their parents a chance (often demonizing them far beyond than what is deserved). Unfortunately, Stefan has dug himself a hole and he needs to “repent” what he has done and be reasonable. Not sure if that is possible since he cannot see what he has done.

  3. One other thought. Stefan complained about how he like John Taylor Gatto’s work but then complained how he had some strange ideas like forcing children to do service. It’s interesting how Molyneux has some pretty good work out there (some of it crazy) but then he does crazier stuff then Gatto.

  4. I dont know what all the hate is for steff, the guys main focus is peaceful parenting, and Gov monopoly of violence, so yeah lets call him a crazy cultist, an if you listen too much too him obviously its dangerous because his a cult leader… its really sad to see the alternative community continue the name calling that we get of crazy and cultist, ahhh does name us feel better to be a haters sadly

  5. ahh it does make us feel better to be haters sadly*** i cant find the edit sorry
